About Seattle Helpdesk
Seattle Helpdesk was founded in 2004 by Scott A. Steinke after being hired as a private consultant by several individuals who had terrible virus's on their computers. They all basically thought they were safe in using their computers and the Internet because they had installed all the latest anti-Virus, anti-Spyware and anti-Adware software.
Going through hours of cleaning each computer's software environment and tracking down all instances of Trojans. Worms, Adware and Spyware, Scott concluded that all of the time spent in each instance could have been avoided with a very little bit of knowledge on the part of the computer owners/users.
Seattle Helpdesk was born. Realizing that there were millions of people in the same situation and only a hand full of individuals willing to take on the private sector, Scott decided that the most positive impact that could be made was to teach others about basic routine computer maintenance, what to watch out for while surfing the web, and security precautions that could be taken relating to e-mail use.
Computers and the internet are a great resource for information and a great avenue for enjoyment, Seattle Helpdesk wants to keep it that way for all it's clients.
